TRIO – a male vocal group from Snowdonia, North Wales – was formed by renowned pianist/accompanist ANNETTE BRYN PARRI – in December 2012. The group gave its first public performance at GALERI Caernarfon in June 2013. The standing ovation at Galeri led, not only to a number of concerts in 2013 and 2014, but also to the release of the group`s first CD in August 2014. They are grateful to SAIN RECORDS for providing them with the opportunity to record 12 of their favourite songs.
The songs are often heard on Radio Cymru programmes, and the CD won the `Album of the Week` award on Chris Needs` programme (Radio Wales).
They made their TV debut at the National Eisteddfod of Wales in Denbigh (2013). The Noson Lawen(S4C) programme in which they appeared was dedicated to Hogia`r Wyddfa, one of Wales` most popular groups, a group that celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2013. Since then, TRIO have appeared on `Pnawn Da` (S4C) and `Heno` (S4C).
EMYR WYN GIBSON (tenor) is a professional actor, who plays the role of MEICAL in a popular Welsh series called `Rownd a Rownd`(S4C), while BEDWYR GWYN PARRI (baritone) works as a learning support assistant in Ysgol Brynrefail,Llanrug. STEFFAN LLOYD OWEN (bass) is currently a vocal studies student at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) in Manchester.
The group is coached by Annette Bryn Parri (pianist). Annette is responsible for arranging TRIO`s songs, and she produced their first CD (August 2014).
In December 2014, TRIO released their Christmas single on iTunes and YouTube. It is called `Mair a wyddet ti`(Welsh version) and `Mary did you know`(English version).
They released their second album – Cân y Celt (Sain Records) in August 2016
